"In reviewing the Fall, 2024 newsletter of Adirondack Architectural Heritage organization, I was surprised to see a photo of the Henitzelman Library, in Brant Lake/Town of Horicon - a building of which I was previous unaware. It's described in the article of "cobblestone construction." Today, it serves as the office of the Town [of Horicon] Historian".

A handsome, certainly distinctive building, it was constructed in 1907, by local residents. The closely spaced stones appear almost to have no mortar (although, they do). Architectural detailing on this gabled-roof building is of the Queen Anne style: patterned wood shingles, decorative "cutwork" in the peak of the gable.

This appears to be masonry that would be categorized under "Arts and Crafts" style. However, I wanted to alert you to this distinctive building, particularly as the author of the article described it as "cobblestone" and it is not listed in the Cobblestone Info Database.
